Microsoft Rewards: Hendricks Motorsports Experience
THE PROJECT
Microsoft Rewards brought two program members to Talladega Superspeedway for an immersive NASCAR weekend, including access to the pits, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, and a private experience with Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron. Our team was brought in to document their journey and turn a once-in-a-lifetime experience into a story that could extend beyond the event itself.
MY ROLE
I led production from planning through final delivery, working directly with the client and crew to build the agenda, coordinate locations and access, manage schedules, and shape the visual approach for the weekend. On site, I moved between producing, directing interviews, and photography, adapting to a fast-moving live environment while making sure we captured both the planned moments and the spontaneous interactions that gave the story its personality.
CAPTURING THE EXPERIENCE
Rather than simply documenting the itinerary, the goal was to put the audience inside the experience. We followed the guests through the energy of race weekend, from behind-the-scenes access and interactions with the Hendrick Motorsports team to the anticipation surrounding the race itself. Interviews gave us their perspective along the way, while photography and observational footage captured the scale, atmosphere, and human moments happening around them.
FROM EXPERIENCE TO STORY
The production was developed into a series of short-form videos for Microsoft Rewards, transforming a two-person VIP experience into content the larger Rewards community could share. By combining careful pre-production with an adaptable approach in the field, we were able to capture a story that felt immediate and personal while still serving Microsoft's broader program and brand objectives.
